As a Devpost hackathon manager, you’ll want to keep your registrants engaged and focused. As a manager you can add To-Dos; this feature allows you to add a community chat (if your hackathon has one) and set up three additional actionable tasks for your participants. We strongly recommend utilizing this feature as it sets up participants for success right from the start of the hackathon.

Adding To-dos
To add To-dos, navigate to the To-dos tab under Edit hackathon.
If your hackathon is using Slack, Discord, or a Facebook group, you’ll have the option to add the invitation link (this will be available to registered participants only).
You can also add additional actions as To-dos. Using the dropdown menu you have eight options: (Download, Signup, Register, Read, Review, Attend, Request, Go) for Actions. Upon adding the Action, add a Label to describe the task you’d like for registrants to take, e.g. Download the available dataset. Then, add the URL where registrants can access the action and complete the task.
Example:
(Action) Download (Label) the SDK (URL) http://yourcompany.com/sdk
(Action) Review (Label) the API docs (URL) http://yourcompany.com/docs
Click Save and you’ve now created a checklist of to-dos!

Removing Actions
To remove actions, simply click on the red X next to the Action. We encourage you not to remove Actions after launch as it may create confusion. However, if you need to update an Action, simply repeat the same steps above.
Community Chat
If your hackathon is using a chat app like Slack or Discord (or has a Facebook group), you can add the invitation link to the Community chat field that will be displayed as “Join Slack / Discord / Facebook group” to registered participants and automatically appear as a to-do item on the list.
We encourage hackathon managers to use at least one of these external communication platforms as a way to engage with participants in real-time and foster collaboration with other participants.
