What’s the difference between signing up for Devpost and registering for a hackathon?

When you sign up for a Devpost account, you can browse hackathons on devpost.com and even comment or post on the Discussion Board, but you won’t be able to submit to a hackathon until you register for it.

If you already have a Devpost account, you’ll still need to register for hackathons you’d like to enter. Check out our guide on how to register for a hackathon for more details.

Please note: When you register for a hackathon on Devpost, pay attention to whether you have to actually apply for that hackathon and be accepted in order to attend/submit a project. Just because you are registered for a hackathon on Devpost does not mean you can attend/submit. Read the rules and the instructions on how to enter the competition.
